Message from Chancellor Michael Drake

To Members of the UCI Community:

The University of California, Irvine, is committed to creating and maintaining a community in which all persons who participate in University programs and activities can work and learn together in an atmosphere free of all forms of harassment, exploitation, or intimidation, including sexual harassment. Sexual harassment can be a complicated area; what is acceptable to one person may be unwelcome and offensive to another.

The purpose of this on-line training program is to help clarify the types of behaviors and comments that may constitute sexual harassment. The program provides important information concerning relevant laws and UCI policies. I strongly endorse this program and, because of its significance for the University community, I urge you all to take advantage of it.
