Dear SCF Faculty, Students, and Staff:

State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota recognizes the rights of all employees and students to work and learn in an environment free from sexual harassment or any other form of harassment as stated in SCF¹s Prohibited Harassment procedure (number: 2.44.01). Sexual Harassment and harassment based on gender, race, national origin, color, age, religion, ethnicity, sexual orientation and disability is against College policy and will not be tolerated in our academic community. The office of human resources has developed an interactive computer tutorial to help employees and students become more aware of prohibited harassment issues within the College.

This computer-based program is a key step in avoiding employee/student harassment at the College as specified in Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Florida Civil Rights Act of 1992, the Florida Educational Equity Act, and Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972. It is the responsibility of all full- and part-time College employees to participate in the Prohibited Harassment training course offered through SCF human resources.

Participation in this training will increase employee and student ability to identify unsolicited and unwelcomed sexual overtures or other harassing conduct. Participants will be briefed on established procedures for filing complaints. Each employee is encouraged to make a concerted effort to prevent harassment and is expected to report incidents of sexual and other prohibited harassment.

The greatest weapon we have against harassment is awareness. Thank you for participating in this training and for your commitment to a harassment-free workplace. Continue
