Message from President Dr. Carol Cartwright

Bowling Green State University is committed to maintaining an environment free from sexual harassment.

We must consciously strive to create a campus culture that recognizes and honors the dignity and rights of all students, employees and visitors, and models those values for the community.

Toward this end, we have arranged for all our employees and students to have access to an automated, online training program, "Preventing Sexual Harassment." This program explains state and federal laws, university policies, and procedures for reporting inappropriate conduct. It also provides examples of what constitutes sexual harassment, including words or actions that some may not recognize as disrespectful of others.

Together, as a learning community, we must seek to comprehend the full meaning of sexual harassment in all its nuances so that we may recognize it and work together to change attitudes, even unconscious ones, that allow it to exist.

Please take the time to review the information in the online program and think about what you as a member of our university community can do to promote an atmosphere of mutual respect that will allow each of us to achieve our true potential.
