Message from Dr. McMenamin
Dear Administrators, Faculty and Staff:
Union County College is committed to the principles of affirmative action in the recruitment, employment, promotion, training, tenure assignment and separation of all faculty and staff. To that end we have made available a web-based training program called Preventing Employment Discrimination. The program outlines the current laws on employment discrimination and uses examples to illustrate the kinds of words and behaviors that might reasonably be regarded as discriminatory.
Union County College has zero tolerance for any forms of discrimination including harassment. In an effort to keep our employees informed. Union County College has arranged an interactive training program with New Media Learning entitled, Preventing Employment Discrimination. This on-line training program reviews current laws on employment discrimination and uses examples to illustrate behaviors that might reasonably be regarded as discriminatory.
The training/awareness program is mandatory for all employees and supervisors. We have a shared responsibility to build and nurture a community that is characterized by respect for others and that is free from discrimination, intimidation and harassment.
If you have any questions or concerns regarding this program, please contact Sharon Johnson, Affirmative Action Officer, at 908-709-7085.
Sincerely,
Dr. Margaret M. McMenamin
President
