Message from Dr. Mary Ellen Mazey, President
Bowling Green State University is committed to providing faculty, staff, and students with an environment where they may pursue their careers or studies free from discrimination. In addition, it is imperative to ensure that everyone has access to, along with full and equal enjoyment of, all services and accommodations of the University.
We must consciously strive to ensure fair and consistent treatment of all individuals with respect to employment opportunities, educational decisions, as well as the campus environment.
Toward this end, we have arranged for all members of our university community to have access to an automated, online training program, "Preventing Employment Discrimination." This program explains state and federal laws, University policies, and procedures for reporting unlawful discrimination.
Together, as a learning community, we must seek to understand the full impact of employment discrimination and all its nuances so that we may recognize it and make changes. The overall success of the University depends on our commitment to equal employment and equal educational opportunity.
Please take the time to review the information in the online program and think about what you as a member of our University community can do to promote the principles of equal opportunity and create an atmosphere of mutual respect that will allow each of us to achieve our full potential.
Dr. Mary Ellen Mazey
President
